Rewards Cards

So, you know those people who love reward cards? I'm not talking credit cards here... just the kind you get from different stores.

For instance, I have a Border's books reward card. If I spend so much there this year, I get gift certificates. This was free.

I also have a Things Remembered Rewards card. It cost all of 3 whole entire dollars, and it never expires. It has a similar program to Border's.

Then there's the FoodLion MVP card. Let me just say this- I HATE FoodLion. They are so over-priced it's not funny. The reason I have it is my favorite Chinese place is next to it. When my husband was in Iraq I would have Chinese 3-4 times a week, and if I ran out of pop I would just go to FoodLion and use my MVP card for some Coke while I was picking up my food. This one is also free.

Several other stores have rewards cards, but I have found my favorite by far. BlockBuster Rewards. It costs $10 a year, and you get one free rental a month. In addition, for every 5 rentals a month you get one free. I don't rent 5 movies a month anymore, but I still get my one free rental a month. Now, I think the cost of a DVD to rent is like, $3 or so... with BlockBuster Rewards they email you coupons every so often. Last month I got a coupon saying until May something all my rentals were only $1.99. This month I got two coupons for .99 cent rentals. To me, that's totally worth the $10 a year.

Anyways, there's no real point to this post... I just figured I'd ramble on about my reward accounts. After all, what else would I do when I'm bored? Write? Ha... that's a good one... (I'm just kidding! Updates this week! I promise!)
